People get scared. They get scared because of the unknown. People are scared of the dark because it is silent, and rumour goes that the supernatural happen in dark places. No one has living proof that ghosts exist, so people are afraid. The unknown is always scary. Try closing your eyes and walk twenty big steps. Somewhere in between you would pause, afraid that you might bump into a wall, even if you know that there is nothing in front.
